Final Weekend Heats Up As PS Championship Main Event Day 2 Begins; Cheng and Lin Win Major Titles

The final weekend of Players Series Championship IV is at hand at the Asia Poker Arena in Taipei, Taiwan with all of the PS Championship Main Event entry flights now completed. The past two days also crowned two more major titles, the PSC Super High Roller and Women's Main Event.

PS Championship Main Event Draws 574 Entries; 88 Advance to Day 2

After six starting flights, the PS Championship Main Event drew 574 entries, sending the prize pool to NT$ 16,365,888. Only 88 players survived the opening stage and will return for Day 2, all chasing a spot at the final table where the NT$ 2,555,888 top prize and the most prestigious title of the series awaits.

Bagging up the overall largest stack was Ho Yi-Chang at Flight C. Chang was already in the lead when he delivered the bubble in Chia Hsiang Ko.

Among those returning who bagged was Players Series ambassador Dylan Wayne however not without a scare on the Flight C bubble. His pocket kings were cracked on the flop then saved by the two-outer set on the turn. He bagged up 32 BB.

There are also three satellite winners still alive. Kennie Tay, Sangbeom Lim, and Alex Wong all turned satellite wins into Main Event seats and have now converted those tickets into a place on Day 2.

Chao-Ting Cheng Denies Seungmook Jung a Second PSC Super High Roller Crown

One of the biggest titles of the series went to Chao Ting Cheng who overcame Kurt Jung after a long and swingy heads up to win the PS Championship Super High Roller.

The NT$ 100,000 buy-in event attracted 31 entries, generating a NT$2,678,400 prize pool, with Cheng collecting NT$1,096,400 for his first Players Series title.

Lin Chienyu Nails Down Women's Main Event Victory

The Women's Main Event drew 30 entries at NT$ 10,000 each for a prize pool of NT$ 256,320. Once it reached the money, it was anyone's game with the lead shifting repeatedly as the race wore on. At one point, the average dropped to 12 big blinds at three-handed.

Emerging from the wild swings was Lin Chienyu who finally broke through to nail down the title and NT$ 100,020 top prize. The win also gave Lin her second women's title at the series having already taken down the Bounty Huntress earlier in the festival.

For those that missed the mark, there are still a slew of events entering the final two days of the festival. Among those to consider:

• PSC Mini Championship - this is the last marquee event of the series, running for two days; three entry flights run on Sunday, August 30 then all survivors head to Day 2 on Monday, August 31; buy-in is 15,000 with a NT$ 2,000,000 guarantee
• Super High Roller Second Chance - this is a two-day event; registration closes at the start of Day 2; buy-in is NT$ 60,000 with a guarantee of NT$ 1,500,000; cards in the air at 3:00 PM
• Monster Stack: his is a two-day event; registration closes at the start the start of Level 11 at 15:40; buy-in is NT$ 3,500; cards in the air at 11:00 AM
• Ladies Night: the last women's exclusive event runs on Sunday, August 30 with a buy-in of NT$ 4,000; cards in the air at 6:00 PM
