PS Championship IV Day 4 Highlights: High Roller Glory for Cherkashin; Ku Leads the N8 Open Main Event

Player Series Championship IV wrapped up another busy day at Asia Poker Arena in Taipei, Taiwan with the Natural8 Open Main Event completing its starting flights and Do Yun Ku emerging as the frontrunner.
The biggest headliner was Andrei Cherkashin who outlasted a star-studded Natural8 Open Super High Roller field to claim his first ever PS trophy.
More champions were crowned across the schedule as the festival concluded its fourth day out of thirteen, running from August 19 to 31. Have a read below on the latest highlights.
Natural8 Open Main Event: Flight D/E Results
Sponsored by Natural8, the final two flights of the Natural8 Open Main Event added another 171 entries, bringing the field to a total of 359 entries. At NT$ 16,500 each, the turnout pushed the prize pool to NT$ 5,117,904.

Flight D produced the largest turnout of the five starting flights with 118 entries, of which 18 advanced to the money round.
Leading them was Do Yun Ku, who jumped in the event after falling early at the Natural8 Open Super High Roller. His change of pace paid off handsomely as he amassed 663,000 in chips, more than enough to not only top the flight but also secure the overall chip lead heading into Day 2.

The final chance came at Flight E, drawing 53 entries with only 8 players making the cut. The last bubble of the event fell on Pang Ru Yee, who entered the round short and eventually found herself all in for just one big blind. Her 10♠10♥ didn't hold against Anton Widjaya's K♠9♠ to bring the starting flights to a close and set the field for Day 2.
With all five flights completed, play resumes on Sunday, August 23 at 11:00 AM with 56 players returning to chase the title and NT$ 845,504 top prize.
Good news for the short stacks, Day 2 blinds roll back to 2,000-4,000 with a 4,000 big blind ante. Blinds increase every 60 minutes. Players bag up at the end of ten levels or final table, whichever is first reached.

Andrei Cherkashin Wins Natural8 Open Super High Roller

The Natural8 Open Super High Roller brought the heavy hitters to the tables, with 41 entries at NT$ 55,000 each to generate a NT$ 1,938,420 prize pool. Following a 40-hand bubble round, it was still anyone's game with Lin Chung-Tang and Tung Wing Wong among the crowd favorites.
At five-handed, Andrei Cherkashin found momentum, eliminating every remaining opponent while twice springing well-timed traps. The last one caught Wong bluffing for his tournament life, sealing Cherkashin his first-ever PS trophy and NT$ 669,120 top prize.
Kudos to Wong, who came close to capturing a second title in as many days after winning the High Roller Megastack just the day before.
