The action continues to heat up at Players Series Championship IV, where the festival has moved into its second half at the Asia Poker Arena in Taipei, Taiwan. Running from August 19 to 31, the thirteen-day series has already crowned a long list of champions, with several of its biggest titles now decided.

Since our last update, the PS Championship Mystery Bounty, Natural8 Open Mini Main Event, and Superstar Challenge have all crowned its victors. The side events have also churned out champions with four players hoisting two trophies.

With the series well into its last week of games, attention has shifted toward the most prestigious title - the PS Championship Main Event - which is now underway featuring a hefty NT$ 15,000,000 guarantee. The first of six flights has already completed.

PSC Main Event Begins: Kim Wah Chiu Leads Flight A

The biggest title race of the series is underway with the opening flight of the PS Championship Main Event drawing 71 entries. By the end of the day, only 11 players remained, each booking a ticket to Day 2 and the money, guaranteeing themselves a share of the NT$ 15,000,000 prize pool.

Leading the first batch of qualifiers was Jack Chiu Kim-Wah who bagged 392,000 (78 big blinds) followed by Chun Ting Lo with 335,000 (67 big blinds), and Jaesung Kang with 285,000 (57 big blinds). Also safely through was Andrei Cherkashin, already a champion after taking down the Natural8 Open Super High Roller.

The Superstar Challenge, the most expensive event in the schedule, saw 24 pony up the NT$ 120,000, buy in who then went to work for the title and the largest cut of the NT$ 2,500,000 prize pool.

In the end, it came down to Tsz Wang Chevan Tin and Troy David Mcfarlane Mclean with Tin picking up two stunning double ups to capture his first-ever Players Series title and a career second-best NT$ 1,105,000 payout.

Another deep run turned into another trophy for Lim Yohwan for a career third PS win. Lim powered through a marathon final day to capture the PS Championship Mystery Bounty title, outlasting the 189 entry field for a top prize of NT$ 335,000. In addition, Lim cashed out a whopping nine bounties - one was when he knocked out Kurt Jung Seungmook on a cooler - to add another NT$ 129,000 for a total haul of NT$ 464,000.

The NT$ 15,000 buy in event featured a prize pool of NT$ 2,500,000 with 30 players carving it up. As always, the biggest draw for this event was the mystery bounty prizes that could turn a small payday into a very large return. That was the case for three players.

Ori Kossonogi was the envy of all having drawn the single largest bounty worth NT$ 180,000 before finishing in 5th place. He walked away with a total payout of NT$ 267,000.

Kung Li also walked away with more winnings from the mystery bounty rewards, pulling the second largest worth NT$ 75,000. In total she cleared NT$ 208,500.

Then there was Jinhwan Kim who finished in 19th place for NT$ 26,500, and after pulling the second largest bounty, he walked away with NT$ 101,500, which was more than the 6th place finisher.

Ting Pang Tsai Railroads Natural8 Open Mini Main Event Final Table

The Natural8 Open Mini Main Event attracted 402 entries for a prize pool of NT$ 1,846,627 with 23 players entering the final day. Once it reached the final table, there was little slowing down Ting Pang Tsai.

In a blistering run, Tsai eliminated six players, wrapping up the final day in just under four hours. His last obstacle was start-of-day chip leader Kenta Urashima to secure the title and NT$ 280,628 top prize.

The bigger buy-in side events which cost NT$ 10,000 to enter have also produced new champions. Kim Youhyun came out on top in the Monster Stack Freezeout for NT$ 169,872, while Ku Doyun captured the Deepstack title for NT$ 152,332.

For Ku, the victory followed another strong run earlier in the festival where he reached the final table of the Natural8 Open Mini Main Event, eventually finishing in 7th place.

Four Players In the Two-Title Club

Winning one event is difficult enough, but four players have already managed to do it twice. Among the festival's long list of side-event champions, Kwong Kin-Wai, Yu Shengfu Wu Hung-Hsiang, and Hsu Yih-Ming have each lifted two trophies at the ongoing series.
