Sheng Ju Shih Wins PS National Cup for NT$ 350,000
Starting the day with just nine big blinds, Sheng Ju Shih had plenty of work ahead him. Four and a half hours later, he had every chip in play.

Sheng came out on top of the 165-entry field to capture the PS National Cup title, his first ever Players Series trophy, and a career high NT$ 350,000 payday.
🔥 Sheng Comes Out Firing
The opening marquee event of Players Series Championship IV came with a NT$ 1,500,000 guaranteed prize pool, with 26 players returning for the final day.

With everyone already in the money, it was action packed from the start as short stacks shoved at every table. One of them was Sheng who repeatedly put his tournament life on the line and quickly saw his aggression pay off.
Picking up pot after pot, Sheng went from nine big blinds to 38 big blinds with the elimination of Chia Lin Huang in 21st place helping fuel his rapid climb.
By the time it trimmed to the final two tables of 16 players, Sheng had climbed to second rank just behind Lin Yi Tsun, while start of day chip leader Hsin Tong Pan was in third position.
Chen Takes Over

Sheng wasn't the only player on the rise. Jian Hong Chen steadily charged up the counts, with a double through Pan providing a big boost.

Once at the final table, Chen shifted into another gear. Despite taking an early hit in a three-way showdown, he quickly recovered by eliminating Lin Yi Tsun and Yin Yeung Leung in the same hand, then added Rachan Akanit and Daeyoung Park to his list of scalps.
With four players remaining, Chen had taken command and looked increasingly difficult to catch.
The Tide Turns
Then everything changed at four-handed. After Sheng eliminated Allan Christopher Dungo, both he and Chien Yu Lin carved out portions of Chen's stack. Lin doubled up twice that Chen's once imposing stack - which had claimed four heads at the final table - was severely down as the shortest. His woes ended when Sheng outdrew him into 3rd place.
Heads up opened with Sheng ahead 42 big blinds to Lin's 17 big blinds. The final hand arrived quick. Lin shoved only to run into Sheng's better kicker to bring the tournament to a close.
Congratulations to the champ!
