PS Championship Main Event

The NT$ 33,000 buy in headliner drew 574 entries for a NT$ 16,365,888 prize pool, with 88 players advancing from the six starting flights into Day 2. That field was reduced to 10 players by the end of play, leaving one elimination still needed before the final table could begin.

When the final ten returned, in less than an hour, Manwoo Park swung into 10th place with Chieh claiming all of his chips. 

From the start, the title race had two clear frontrunners. Jung entered the final table with 79 big blinds, holding the narrowest of leads over Chieh with 78 big blinds. They were already more than double their nearest challenger, Anton Lu who started with 31 big blinds.

At the other end of the counts was Ho Yin Joycelyn Lam, the lone female in the lineup who had carried a commanding stack during portions of Day 2 before slipping late in the night. She entered the final table with just three big blinds and was the first to depart, finishing in 9th place.

Felix Klaus Kohl was out next when he shoved into Chieh's pocket kings while Jung continued to stay within striking distance.

The balance finally began to tilt when Chieh eliminated Lee Hyunjin in 7th place. From there, Chieh took firm control, at one stage amassing forty percent of the chips in play with six players still remaining.

As the blinds climbed, Jung started closing the gap. He eliminated Lu in 6th place, then sent Yuan Yang Shen out in 5th place, pulling himself back level with Chieh. By then, the two leaders had a significant lead over the two other players, both with less than a third of either frontrunner's chips.

Sung Sik Eum then eliminated Hsueh Yi Chen in 4th place leading to a lengthy final three battle that lasted 46 hands until Sung finally succumbed to Jung in 3rd place. 

Jung entered heads up with roughly a 2:1 chip advantage, though both players remained deep. Instead of a long drawn out race, it was over almost immediately.

Just three hands in, Chieh and Jung engaged in a preflop battle that ended with a five-bet shove from Jung and Chieh calling for his tournament life. Both had an ace. Jung's kicker dominated and it held to hoist the trophy.

For Jung, it was another major addition to an already decorated Players Series résumé. He earned his first PS Championship Main Event victory and his career fourth PSC marquee title. 

For Chieh, it brought an outstanding run to a close in 2nd place for NT$ 1,710,000.
